Ysgol Pencoed is located in the small town of Pencoed, situated to the east of Bridgend. The area is a former mining community, which has been very successful in attracting high-quality employers to locate in the area. There are now a large number of major multi-national employers based in the area including Ford, Bosch, Rockwool and Sony. Additionally, the presence of these major manufacturers has encouraged the location of a large number of smaller companies, and the school benefits from a formal partnership to support many of its developments.

Pencoed is situated just off of junction 35 of the M4 in South Wales, roughly half-way between Cardiff and Swansea.

Please note that due to recent development in the area the roads between the A473 and Ysgol Pencoed may not be up-to-date, however it is made obvious how to reach Pencoed from that direction, and the new road links up with the old road well before reaching Ysgol Pencoed.
